Nike as a symbol of victory

Nike, also known as Victoria in Roman mythology, was the goddess of victory, fame and success.

Nike was born to the titan Pallas and the sea nymph Styx. In Greek mythology, Styx personified the flow of power and victory, which is why her daughter Nike was closely associated with these concepts.

She was often depicted as a winged goddess, usually appearing in the hand of a victorious athlete or general. Their wings symbolized rapid, victorious rise and triumph.
