Eros, the personified force of desire

The term "Eros" originates from ancient Greek and means desire, passionate love, and creative urge. In the earliest Greek sources, Eros is a primal force of the cosmos that enables union and procreation.

Eros does not belong to the Olympian family of gods in the classical sense, but originally existed outside the divine order. Only in later myths is he depicted as a god, often as the son of Aphrodite. Eros does not embody romantic love, but rather the inner drive that triggers change, development, and movement.
